Our first organised Kendama Competition for 2016 is just around the corner, coming right up in March! Located in the MDIS campus, at a
convenient and big open space, we would like to announce the MDIS Kendama Championships 2016.
We
are teaming up with the great people from MDIS to bring this kendama event to you. Do come
down and join us for the competition, and stand to win CASH prizes, along with other spectacular and
awesome prizes!
Date: 5 March 2016, Saturday
Place: MDIS Campus, 501 Stirling Road, Amphitheatre
Time: Kendama Contest starts at 12.30pm. Registration at 12pm
Entry Fee $5
Who can take part: Anyone and everyone!
How to get to the event location:
Closest MRT is Queenstown MRT. Then just a 5-10 minute walk away from the train station. You will need to pass Queenstown Stadium first.
So what is going to happen? Here is where we explain the simple rules and trick list.
**Competitors will be split up into 2 different age groups upon registration.**
1) Open Category (17 & Above)
2) Student Category (Under 17)
Everyone taking part in the competition will need to undergo a Time Trial.
The Time Trial trick list for the Open and the Student Category is in the image above.
To
reiterate the points, every competitor must go on stage and complete
the trick list (In Sequence) as fast as possible, and each competitors
time will be recorded down.
The top/fastest 8 competitors from each category (Open AND Student) will move on to a head-to-head knock out round for each category. Meaning there will be one Quarter-Final round for Open category, and one Quarter-Final round for Student Category, so on.
Knock out Head-to-Head Quarter-Final round will be:
(Match 1) 1st Fastest Time Trial Competitor VS 8th Fastest Time Trial Competitor
(Match 2) 2nd Fastest Time Trial Competitor VS 7th Fastest Time Trial Competitor
(Match 3) 3rd Fastest Time Trial Competitor VS 6th Fastest Time Trial Competitor
(Match 4) 4th Fastest Time Trial Competitor VS 5th Fastest Time Trial Competitor
Semi-Final round will be:
Winner of Match 1 VS Winner of Match 4
Winner of Match 2 VS Winner of Match 3
Final round will be the 2 winners against each other, and the 3rd and 4th placing against each other.
There will be CASH prizes for the top 3 fastest competitors.
However, for those who do not manage to make it to top 3, don't worry.
You will stand a chance at getting another Award that will be awarded to a kendama competitor on that day whom the organisers deem fit for this special Award.
So what is this special Award?
The competitor that has the most number of supporters in the Finals will walk away with $400 more! So get all your family and friends to come down and support you!
