The trick-set for these trick tutorials was thought up by 2011 World Yo-Yo Champion, Marcus Koh, and the elements in these short tricks are still used by Marcus in his contest freestyles.

For the eighth trick in the Trick Tutorials line-up, we have a trick that is cool, flashy and flowy. This trick is slightly more modern as compared to our past offerings, and this trick is named the Pseudo Wristmount Whip. This is one of the tricks that Marcus has utilized often and to maximum effect in his freestyles. Watching this trick being performed is really impressive when done smoothly and fast, but it takes lots of practice to perfect.

We shan't go into describing how to pull off this trick step-by-step, you should be able to pick that up through the video. However, just remember that when learning and practicing this trick for the first time, go slow and make sure you know what is happening to each string segment. This trick is a great trick to add, or develop, combos from. We highly recommend you learning and getting this trick right!

Throw Revolution X Spinworkx Trick Tutorials #7 - Pop N Fresh

Throw Revolution, together with us, will be releasing a set of 20 Trick Tutorials to get players, new or old, honed in for freestyles. This set of tricks to come include various modern elements that is worth a learn to rack up points during contests.

The trick-set for these trick tutorials was thought up by 2011 World Yo-Yo Champion, Marcus Koh, and the elements in these short tricks are still used by Marcus in his contest freestyles.

For the seventh trick in the Trick Tutorials line-up, we have a trick that ALL yo-yo players looking to compete and perform must know. The trick is the Pop N Fresh. The Pop N Fresh trick was created back in the late 1990 to early 2000s by Gary Longoria (who also brought you the trick Seasick). Watching this trick being performed is really impressive, but it issnt as hard to do as it looks. It just takes some practice to get right.

To perform the Pop N Fresh, just get into a frontstyle Mach 5 mount, and then pop the yo-yo up in the air, cross your hands, and land into a Split Bottom Mount. Following this, pop the yo-yo up hitting the top string and cross your hands again and land back into a Mach 5 mount. Repeat this for as many repetitions as you can, and there you have the Pop N Fresh.

Pop N Fresh is a very popular trick to put in freestyle combos, and it has been done by many, many players over the years. One player who has used Pop N Fresh in his freestyles is 4x World Champion, Hiroyuki Suzuki. Again, for this trick, take your time, practice it slowly, and you should get it in no time.

If you have any questions, you can hit us up on Facebook, Instagram, drop us an email, or come down and ask us (or the Throw Revolution team) on how to perfect this trick!

Throw Revolution X Spinworkx Trick Tutorials #6 - Black Hops

Throw Revolution, together with us, will be releasing a set of 20 Trick Tutorials to get players, new or old, honed in for freestyles. This set of tricks to come include various modern elements that is worth a learn to rack up points during contests.

The trick-set for these trick tutorials was thought up by 2011 World Yo-Yo Champion, Marcus Koh, and the elements in these short tricks are still used by Marcus in his contest freestyles.

For the sixth trick in the Trick Tutorials line-up, we have a trick that absolutely must be in any freestyle competitors pool of tricks. The Black Hops is an essential trick that gets players used to hopping the yo-yo between strings in really tight spaces. This is great practice for all sorts of trick combos that involve hops! The Black Hops trick was created by 1A World yo-yo champion, Tomonari Ishiguro (BLACK) back in the early 2000s and has been a popular trick ever since.

The Black Hops has been seen in freestyle competitions around the world frequently. A few years ago, it would be tough to find a contest that had no players performing the Black Hops during their freestyle routine. This trick may look very daunting, but what we can recommend is that if starting out with a Triple or Nothing is tough, just try doing the trick from a Double or Nothing first and work your way up to a Triple or Nothing. We must say that hitting this trick with a short string is really tough, so when first learning this trick, try to use a slightly longer string.

If you have any questions, you can hit us up on Facebook, Instagram, drop us an email, or come down and ask us (or the Throw Revolution team) on how to perfect this trick!

Have fun practicing, and keep spinning!
